Upcoming Event & Opportunity to Join Team Pamplemousse!

As we enter the second half of February more and more exciting things keep popping up. Back in the pre-pandemic world I did quite a few zine fairs and always loved connecting with people in person at them. This coming weekend I'm thrilled to have a table at a fair hosted by Good Mother Studio in Oakland. Come by to say hi, browse, and check out the other cool vendors! I'm digging out some secret inventory of Pamplemousse, zines from the archive and a few photo prints. Details below!

Help Wanted: Social Media Intern

I'm looking for some help!  This position will work closely with me to provide support with social media. This is the perfect role for a student with a flexible schedule who loves film photography! Details below.

Specific duties

• Manage Instagram social media calendar
  • Schedule posts
  • Create visuals, captions & hashtags for scheduled posts
  • Brainstorm post ideas/campaigns 
• Help create Instagram photo & video content for feed, stories and reels
• Spend time engaging with community and followers on Instagram: like, comment and share posts, find new people to follow etc.
• Curate and manage “weekly feature” Instagram post highlighting members of the community
• Research other social media platforms such as Reddit, Tiktok, YouTube etc. and evaluate if it’s worth expanding to other platforms besides Instagram

Requirements

• 2-5 hour per week commitment, 3 month period with possibility of extension 
• Interest in film photography and/or indie publishing
• Gen Z (high school senior or college student) or young millennial with social media experience
• SF/Bay Area based - you will have occasional in person meetings and may need to be available for in person content creating - some of the work can be done remotely 
• A lot of experience with Instagram and some experience with other platforms required 
• Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop & InDesign) preferred

Compensation

This is an unpaid position but we can offer:

• Mentorship by Nora (pick my brain about anything! i.e. film and old cameras, zines, printing, book design, exhibiting photography in the bay area, cool places to shoot photos, magazine publishing etc.)
• High school or college credit (if needed)
• Help making a zine
• Opportunity to be part of a growing creative project & community of amazing people
• Potential for compensation as the project continues to grow
• Your own work featured on the Pamplemousse Instagram page
• Your name printed on the masthead of the magazine
