Submissions Open!
& exciting upcoming events
Hello & welcome to this week's newsletter! I'm excited to get this going and appreciate you all being here.
Submission Opportunity
I'm excited to announce the theme for the Spring Issue of Pamplemousse Magazine: THE ADVENTURE ISSUE
THE ADVENTURE ISSUE is about exploration, curiosity, new experiences, and travel near and far. Adventure can be anything unusual or exciting that we encounter in both our day to day and in unknown places. For some, a big adventure is exploring the great outdoors and unplugging and reconnecting with the natural world. For others, itβs simply wandering around a familiar city or neighborhood with a mind open to discovery.
OPEN CALL: Submit one photo that represents an unexpected or planned adventure. It can be from a trip, a random day wandering, a night out with friends - a moment when you felt adventurous and curious. Write a few sentences or words that sum up your escapades.
DEADLINE: JANUARY 31ST 10PM PST
if you are unable to or do not want to sign into Gmail, please visit our website for full submission guidelines
Photo Walk!
Counter Collective is hosting their second community photo walk on Saturday, January 20th from 1-3:30pm, guided through SF's Sunset District by Janett Perez.
Bring a camera and join them as they wander through the colorful streets near the beach. A great way to spend the afternoon!
The event is free but space is limited. Sign up to reserve your spot!
Save The Date! Bella Bond - Foldin' Laundry
Meet Bella Bond (pronouns they/them) - A queer, non-binary documentary film photographer living in Berkeley, CA
From the artist: My first solo show is dedicated to my loved ones, friends, and community as a physical manifestation of my love. This is my take on love languages, specifically acts of services, as a way to merge my deep admiration and care for my community and my silly art.
Don't miss opening night on January 27th 5:30-11pm!
THANK YOU!
I'd like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate Pamplemousse at our release party last Friday. The SF photo community is where all of this started and I couldn't be more grateful for the continued support.
Shout out to Photoworks SF for hosting!
